Behind the Bylaws: Review Before the Next Step
This is the final update in our six-part bylaws review series. Over the past several weeks, members have had the opportunity to review the proposed bylaws updates in sections, submit questions, and follow along with weekly articles and videos.
As the review period moves toward the next step, members are encouraged to revisit the full materials and make sure they understand the proposed updates.
Review the Proposed Bylaws Updates
The bylaws are an important governing document for the association. They outline the organization’s structure, membership definition, leadership selection, meeting and election procedures, and key procedures. To support a clear and transparent review process, members may now access both versions of the proposed bylaws updates:
- Review the red-lined version: Red-lined Bylaws
- Review the clean version: Clean Bylaws

Wrap Up: Resources and Next Steps
Over the past six weeks, we have taken a closer look at the proposed revisions to our Association’s Bylaws—one section at a time. I hope this series has made the review process more approachable and helped explain not only what changes are being proposed, but also why they are being recommended.
If you missed an update—or would simply like to revisit an earlier topic—you can find the complete series on our Behind the Bylaws Resource Page at https://www.longleafpinerealtors.com/bylawsupdates/.
The resource page includes:
- All six Behind the Bylaws updates.
- The complete draft of the proposed bylaws.
- A red-lined version highlighting the proposed changes.
- Questions submitted by members throughout the series.
The next step in this process is our Member Luncheon on August 18, where the proposed bylaws will be presented to the membership for discussion and a vote.
