LPR Visits Washington, D.C. for NAR Legislative Meetings
Representatives for Longleaf Pine REALTORS®(LPR) visited the nation’s capital to learn about Advocacy initiatives, new NAR practice changes, and to meet with legislators for our state!

The National Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors recently approved the 2026 budget without a dues increase and made significant updates to the Code of Ethics. These updates include clarifying language in Standard of Practice 10-5, which now explicitly prohibits harassment based on various protected characteristics. This change aims to provide clearer guidelines for enforcing ethical standards across state and local associations.
Additionally, the Board accepted recommendations from the Finance Committee, maintaining dues at $156 while reallocating $35 from the Consumer Advertising Campaign assessment to operational funds. This decision supports financial stability, ensuring NAR’s ability to meet its obligations through optimized consumer engagement initiatives.
Key actions also included amendments to the qualifications for top leadership positions, effective January 1, 2026, aligning them with regional vice president requirements. The Board recognized outstanding individuals with the 2025 Distinguished Service Awards and honored Anne Marie DeCatsye with the 2024 William R. Magel Award for her contributions to the REALTOR® community.
Furthermore, the meeting highlighted the ongoing efforts of the REALTORS® Relief Foundation, which continues to provide crucial housing assistance to disaster victims across the United States.
