Housing Developments in Hoke County to Resume in PWC areas
Hoke County Commissioners approved an increase in water distribution from 70% to 80% percent. The increase will allow subdivisions that have been approved previously to begin building again after a moratorium was put in place last year. Water allocation is at capacity in all other zones other than the PWC areas.
The following is a list of subdivisions that fall in the PWC areas. Construction can begin again on the following…
- Shahbain Reserve Phase 2 – 42 lots
- RLSmith Townhomes – 40 lots
- B & B Loop Townhomes – 28 lots
- Socotra Phase 1, section 2 – 56 lots
- Homestead – 138 lots
- Ellerslie – 76 lots
- Drake Landing – 196 lots
- Kirwin Village Phase 2 & 3 – 121 lots
What Was Said:
Vice Chairman Harry Southerland – It’s not a question of funning out water, but a matter of infrastructure. Hoke County has groundwater resources but not the infrastructure needed to get that water pumped out, processed and piped to customers.
