Biography

Deno has served on the Fayetteville City Council since 2022 and is now in his third term. For over 27 years, Hondros has worked as a realtor, and he has owned successful small businesses for more than 30 years. He currently serves as a Senior Broker at Franklin Johnson Commercial Real Estate.

In 2018, Hondros was appointed to the City’s Storm Water Advisory Board (SWAB) and earned the chairman seat within six months. He has also held positions on the City’s Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Task Force, the City SPIRIT Committee, the Murchison Choice Planning Committee and the Salvation Army Board of Directors.

Hondros currently serves on the following City Council committees:

• UDO and Housing Ordinance Committee, Chair
• Business and Economic Development Committee, Chair
• Homelessness and Mental Health Policy Committee
• Appointments Committee
• Transportation Committee

With Longleaf Pine REALTORS, he has served as a Director on the Board and as Chair of the Economic Development, Legislative, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) and Political Action Committees. He has served at the state as a DEI committee member with NC Realtors. He has also served as an Ambassador and on Government Affairs with the Greater Fayetteville Chamber.

He has volunteered at his churchon the Parish Council, where he has served as president and treasurer, and on the Long-Range Planning, Bylaws and Greek Festival committees over the last several decades. He has also mentored youth playing basketball as both a head coach and an assistant coach.

Hondros is a graduate of Terry Sanford High School, Class of 1994, and Fayetteville Technical Community College, Class of 1997. He is married to Liza Hondros, who is serving her second term on the Fayetteville Regional Airport Commission. Together they have one son, James, currently a sophomore at Terry Sanford High School.

Why I Would Like to Serve

As a Fayetteville native, and Realtor for over 27 years, my desire is to serve our city, region and association. By promoting and advocating for our industry, city and region it is a way of giving back, and leaving this world better than we found for the next generation. .
