Vermilion Development Project
- 10-year development agreement approved for 470-acre “Vermilion project”
- Sanford City Council annexed land in July making it the largest annexation in Sanford’s history at the Little Buffalo interceptor
- City will build 24-inch sewer pipes and expand capacity
- Developer will pay a portion of cost
- The first phase will consist of 193-single family lots and 123 townhouses
- The site is located north of the 421 Bypass
Data Centers
- Commissioners will hear from the Southern Environmental Law Center and the Sanford Area Growth Alliance regarding pros and cons of a proposed data center on lower Moncure Road on March 16
- Proponents argue that the data center would bring more jobs and development into the area
- Chatham County commissioners have placed a moratorium on data centers
Cox Maddox Road – New Subdivision
- 27 lots – single family subdivision on Cox Maddox Road
- The lots will be built by Judy and Jason Wellons who own the 26 acres
- Site will have public water and private septic
